Opened in 1940 the Belle Meade Theatre was thegrandest suburban theatre in the south. Mr. Ed Jordan was the Manager from the beginning and he welcomed Hollywood’s finest to Nashville.

In the preceding article Mr. Jordan shares his “Wall of Fame” with young movie goers. He discusses the formation of his”Happiness Club”. The club provided a Saturday afternoon variety stage show and movie combination for youngsters 15 and under. “Stimulating tomorrows leaders in their formative years”. Mrs. Drake was a “matron” at the Belle Meade Theater. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings she kept order among the many children attending the movies and the Happiness Club.
